Research Opportunities
A wide range of research support and activities are available throughout
Kent State University. The fpdc works closely with the
University
Research Council and
Research
& Graduate Studies to sponsor special workshops and celebrate
the research efforts of faculty and students. Throughout the academic
year, the fpdc
sponsors brown bag discussions and hands-on presentations where faculty
members can share their research with

Bureau of
Research & Training Services
The Bureau of Research & Training Services aids faculty
members in the conduct of research projects providing
consultation to the faculty member regarding data entry and
analysis in public and private schools, agencies, and medical
and health related institutions. Additionally, they offer
workshops that assist both faculty members and graduate
students.
Celebration
of Scholarship
The Celebration of Scholarship is an annual event that is designed to acknowledge
and support the rich cultures of research and creative activity
at Kent State University. Each spring during Honors Week, the Celebration
of Scholarship offers
an opportunity for collegial recognition and communication about
scholarship in its many forms.
Research
& Graduate Studies
Research & Graduate Studies is a division comprised of three
main branches: Graduate Studies, Sponsored Programs, and
Technology Transfer and Economic Development. The division
is intimately involved in efforts resulting in KSU's designation
as a Doctoral / Research University-Extensive by the Carnegie
Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
University
Research Council
The
mission of the URC is to foster and stimulate the research mission
of the University by studying and recommending policies;
recommending priorities for support; recommending faculty research
appointments, and publicizing research efforts at the University.
The URC consists of twelve faculty members representing various
scholarly disciplines of the University and it collaborates with
the University Teaching Council and the Faculty Professional
Development Center to assist new faculty in their teaching and
scholarship by co-sponsoring events and activities and supporting
faculty members in their research efforts.
