Staff
The Center is comprised of a director, assistant director, secretary, faculty associate, and studio educational consultants who work with faculty and graduate students and conduct seminars and workshops in support of faculty professional development.

Mary Louise Holly, Director

Professor Mary Lou Holly has been director of the Center since its creation in 1998. She has been a faculty member in the College of Education since 1978, where her long-time interest in human development has been fueled. Mary Lou invites you to stop by any time to use center resources or to discuss any aspect of professional development.

Ryan S. Wooley, Assistant Director

Ryan Wooley is the new Assistant Director of the fpdc. He comes to the fpdc from the College of Education, where he served as Assistant Director of the Instructional Resource Center for five years. He is an instructional technologist with a background in the humanities. He teaches workshops in web-based animation, interactivity, and multimedia with Macromedia Flash. Ryan is interested in educational simulations and gaming. He also likes to explore the increasingly dynamic range of options for crafting and communicating ideas in a technological world. He is available to help faculty with any aspect of their professional development.
 

Jody M. Khlem, Senior Secretary

Jody joined the fpdc in April 2002. Jody's broad experience at Kent State University began at the Trumbull regional campus in 1994. When Jody came to the Kent campus, she worked as a secretary in Continuing Studies and the College of Business before becoming a part of the fpdc staff. Jody is currently working on an Associate degree in Information Technology for Administrative Professionals.

Albert Ingram, Faculty Associate

Chip is an Associate Professor of Instructional Technology at the College of Education. He's been at Kent State University since 1996. He teaches courses in Instructional Design, Instructional Applications of the Internet, and Current Issues in Instructional Technology, among other subjects. As a fpdc Faculty Associate, Chip helps faculty in the fpdc with instructional design and leads a variety of seminar and workshop topics related to teaching and technology. Chip is one of the leaders for the Faculty/Future Faculty Learning Communities.

Carrie Giovannone, Educational Consultant

Carrie received an M.Ed in Evaluation and Measurement from the College and Graduate School of Education in May of 2003 and is currently working on her doctorate in the same field. She worked with the Bureau of Research Training and Services for over two years conducting quantitative analyses for program evaluations. Carrie continues to develop a knowledge base in both quantitative and qualitative program evaluation and research. She looks forward to expanding her horizons in qualitative research. Previously, Carrie worked as a freelance graphic designer and has been applying her talents to some of the publications of the fpdc (including this one). Carrie is very excited to be a part of the collegial scholarship that the fpdc promotes through the Learning Communities.
 

Charu Ahuja, Educational Consultant

Charu Ahuja is a graduate student at Kent State University, enrolled in the M.S. program in Information Architecture Knowledge Management. Having received an Masters in Technology and Bachelors in Multimedia, Charu has worked as a Multimedia and Web Developer for five years, developing interactive training modules, large scale websites, and constructing database back-ends. Her responsibility at the fpdc is primarily to help faculty and graduate students use technology effectively in education; mainly focusing on the pedagogy aspects of teaching and learning. She also maintains the fpdc website.
 

Ashley Shumway, Student Associate

Ashley Shumway is a junior at Kent State University. Ashley joined the fpdc in April of 2004. For four years she has worked as an administrative assistant. Her future goal is to pursue a career in Event Planning and Business. 

Anna M. Pyle, Senior Volunteer

Since retirement as a registered nurse and moving to the area, Anna has been engaged in activities and classes at KSU. Her son and daughter are both graduates of KSU and are the parents of four grand-children. Anna has been a member of the Cooperative Senior Volunteer Program for two years.
